Customized surveys encouraged

The Myers Group has designed a survey tool that measures satisfaction with outpatient hospital experiences in the areas of outpatient surgery, emergency services, rehabilitation, radiology, laboratory, and all other outpatient areas. While our survey tool is available for clients, we recommend customizing the survey so that the results support the quality improvement and overall initiatives of each hospital.

The Myers Group administers surveys using mail, telephone, web, active IVR, and mixed methodologies. For most hospital surveys, The Myers Group recommends use of the telephone-only data collection methodology for interviewing patients. The Myers Group finds that our skilled interviewers, rather than our IVR capability or mail methodologies, are most effective in obtaining completed interviews with hospital patients immediately following their outpatient experience.

We employ Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI) as a cost-effective method of data collection that provides data integrity, fast turnaround of results, and expanded research capabilities. The number of surveys needed to achieve 95% confidence in results, with an acceptable margin of error (+/-5%), can be determined for each hospital’s outpatient grouping so that the desired number of survey completes can be met on a monthly basis.

The Myers Group conducts all aspects of data collection, project management, and reporting in-house. Following survey fielding, The Myers Group partners with the hospital client to design a final report that is comprehensive, easy to understand, and contains actionable data.
